According to the DSP Chakra Bahadur Singh, Spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range office, Hanuman dhoka, Baral and another Nepalese at the Lainchaur-based Casino Venus located in the premises of Malla Hotel were arrested by the Metropolitan Police Sector, Durbarmarg, on charge of gambling during Thursday night. The police said they will charge them as per the Gambling Act. Neplalese gamblers are not allowed to gamble as per the legal procedures but police have been making frequent arrests of Nepalese for gambling in casinos.
Police said that the arrested were kept at Metropolitan Police Range office, Hanumandhoka.
Baral had been staying in the US in recent years and returned to Kathmandu recently. According to the police sources he was under financial troubles with a bank putting his house for public sale for not repaying the loan.
