Singapore, electing to bat, put up 146/6 in 40 overs and bowled out Nepal for 78 runs in 22 overs to secure a massive victory of 68 runs. [break]
Nepal tried to take control in the match as Singapore lost opener Keshav Sashiri in the second over off Devendra Somare.
Ishaan Shekhar then took charge of Singapore innings and scored an aggressive 21 runs off 12 balls with four boundaries. However, Nepali skipper Switchan Shah caught Shekhar in the mid-off region in the ball off Satish Bhagat.
At 26/2 in 4.3 overs, Singapore chose to play quietly and in the next 14 overs added 32 runs. Vikash Rajagopal and captain Varun Sivaram preferred singles to add the runs. Sivaram (14 off 40) fell to Rajiv Shah who took a return catch while Mohit Kulkarni (9) was trapped leg-before by Sushan Shrestha as the visitors were 79/4 in 26 overs.
Singapore then swung the match in their favor with Rajagopal racing to his fourth half-century in five matches. Dropped on 23 and 41, he scored 58 off 107 balls with just two boundaries before falling to Nischal Pandey.
Wicket-keeper Sam Franks kept up the momentum with 26 off 41 with a four and a six before running himself out in the last ball of the innings. Sidharth Sikka contributed with an unbeaten 12 as Singapore finished at 146/6.
Nepal bowled 40 overs 35 minutes before lunch leaving enough time for five overs in the innings. The early signs were good as openers Sharad Khadka and Nischal added 29 in those overs.
The story was very different after lunch. In the next five overs, Nepal lost three wickets for nine runs leaving them at 38/5 in 10 overs.
Nepal, a team of raw players relying on a couple of shoulders, failed to chase the total.
Left-arm spinner Abhiraj Singh struck in the seventh over with Sharad Khadka being stumped. Two balls later, off-spinner Navin Param gave another blow taking Nischal Pandey´s wicket.
Switchan Shah failed in the fifth consecutive match going for a big shot - immediately after surviving a stumping on a similar shot. He was the second victim to Navin Param, who also struck in the next over dismissing Dipendra Chand in a back-foot leg-before. Sushan Shrestha was run-out and it was 48/5.
Saisrikar Pogaru took three wickets for 10 runs while Shivam Ahuja grabbed the last one as Nepal were bowled out for a miserable 78 at the completion of 22 overs.
This is the first ever final that Nepal have lost at home. For Singapore, who won the ACC U-15 Elite Cup two years ago, it is the second title they have won in Nepal.
Sri Lankan coach of the Nepali side Roy Luke Dias congratulated the Singapore team for their victory. "Singapore played better cricket and we lost to a better side", said Dias.
"Our batting was poor, we can´t rely on only two guys to win the tournament", he said showing his disappointment with the Nepali batting.
However, Dias praised his players for their success in reaching the final. "All credit goes to the boys, who came from nowhere and took Nepal to the final", said Dias.
Meanwhile, Singapore coach Arjun Menon was delighted by the victory. "Singapore had been underperforming for a long time but we succeeded in clinching this title", said Menon. He praised his middle order batsmen who took the Singaporean innings to a defendable total against Nepal.
