Sikkim CM Chamling on private visit in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Nov. 11: Pawan Chamling, Chief Minister of Sikkim, the northeast state of India, has arrived in the capital this afternoon in connection of an informal visit.



Upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, he was welcomed by the senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.



His seven-member delegation comprises his spouse Tika Maya, daughter Komal Chamling and Chief Secretary RS Basnet, among others.



During his a week-long stay here, he will pay homage to the Pashupatinath and visit the Manakamana Temple, Gorkha.



According to Indian Embassy Spokesperson Piyush Srivastav, the Sikkim Chief Minister´s visit is completely a private one.



Srivastav said that he has no idea whether the Chief Minister holds political parleys or not during the visit.



Chamling is scheduled to return home on coming Saturday.
