"A few strips of contraceptive pills and condoms are left at the health post now," informed Rai. "The health post is unable to treat even a normal fever right now," he added.
Ram Bahadur Shah, Auxiliary Health Worker at the health post, informed that despite repeated request the DPHO is yet to send the necessary medicine.
"We have been regularly sending monthly and terminal reports to the DPHO, but we have not received any medicine since the commencement of the new fiscal year in Mid-July," said Shah.
As per the rule, a sub-health post should have at least 25 different kinds of medicine recommended for various common diseases while a health post should have at least 35 kinds of medicine used in the treatment of different ailments.
Shah also informed that not only people of Dikuwa rely on the healh post but also it should look after the health of people in 4 wards in neighboring Bahunidanda. The people of Bahunidanda VDC living near Dikuwa choose the sub-health post for treatment for the sub-health post allotted for their VDC is far from their village.
AHW Shah informed that people suffering from seasonal disease visit the health post in droves but lack of medicine has created a problem in the treatment.
Lal Keshar Rai, a local, informed that people are forced to visit up to Ghurmi of Udayapur district for treatment due to the scarcity of medicine in the health post.
Similarly, sub-health post in Kharmi VDC is also reeling under the scarcity of medicine. According to AHW, Padam Dahal, they have send porters to fetch medicine from the District Hospital.
