Shops without price list to be punished

KATHMANDU, Aug. 31: Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Chudamani Sharma has said that the administration would make it mandatory for all shops in the city to install pricelist of daily commodities within a week.



Speaking at an interaction organized by Reporters´ Club here on Friday, he said the administration has been holding talks with the business entrepreneurs, consumers and experts among others to paste the pricelist of pulses, rice, sugar, oil, meat and other daily commodities.



CDO Sharma stressed the need of preparing pricelist to take action against those who promote black marketing, adding the business entrepreneurs, who avoid putting up pricelist in their shops, would be face action as per Black Marketing Act-1975 on the basis of the nature and offence of the crime.



The market monitoring mechanism would be made active to prevent shortage of daily commodities in the market during the festivals.
