PATHARI (Morang), Sept 29: Police here have helped open the shops closed by the owners, fearing the unfavorable consequences from the cadres of Madhes-centric political parties.

According to Tarini Prasad Lamsal, Superintendent of Police (SP) at the District Police Office, Morang, and the shop owners opened their shops after the security personnel assured them for the security.

Police today, arrested a group of shutdown enforcers belonging to the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), added SP Lamsal.

The UDMF has been waging agitation in various districts across the southern plains, including Morang, for more than a month in protest of state delineation.

"Police have been arresting the agitators who were forcing the shutdown of market or found to be threatening those running their shops," shared Lamsal. RSS
