SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates, Nov 4: Pakistan allrounder Shoaib Malik says he will retire from test cricket after the third test against England.

Malik, 33, was recalled for the three-match series after five years and made a career-best 245 in the first drawn test at Abu Dhabi last month. But since that double century Malik's batting form dipped sharply with four low scores of 0, 2, 7 and 0. However, he took a career-best 4-33 on Tuesday to curtail England's first innings lead to 72 runs before falling lbw to Stuart Broad for a duck.

Malik, who is married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, tweeted: "I have decided to retire from Test Cricket, will post my retirement blog soon. Please remember me in your Duas (prayers), love you all & thank you."

Malik scored 1,898 runs in 35 test matches since making his debut against Bangladesh in 2001. He also took 29 wickets and still has one more chance to bowl against England in the second innings.
