OKHALDHUNGA, Aug 10: The Siddicharan Highway which has been blocked following a landslide a month ago at Thati Bhanjyang and dozen other places in Katari Municipality has resumed on Saturday.
The vehicular movement has turned to normal as soon as an obstruction at Thatijhanyang of Katari-Ghurmi road section got cleared.
The supervisor at Lahan based Road Division Office, Kumar Pyakurel told Republica online that road came into operation after constructing the alternative road at Thati Bhanjyang as the base of the road had been destroyed.
"Now all kinds of vehicles bound to Okhaldhunga, Khotang and Solukhumbu via Katarai in Udaypur can make their movements along this road", said Supervisor Pyakurel.
Transport of goods to three districts at the upper belt in Province 1 Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu and Khotang has eased as the road came into operation.
The highway is the life-line road that connects the three districts with terai and provincial capital Biratnagar.
Following obstruction, the vehicles were using the alternative route of Bardibas-Sindhuli-Khurkot road.
