Shera Durbar land case: Home Minister Lekhak directs police to accelerate investigation

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak said that  regardless of the involvement of the leaders of any political party in the matter, they should be investigated and the legal process should be initiated.

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has instructed the police to promptly complete the investigation regarding the land that falls under Shera Durbar.


On Sunday, Home Minister Lekhak called the Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) Chief Additional Inspector General (AIG) Deepak Thapa and the Police Chief Basanta Bahadur Kunwar to the Ministry of Home Affairs and instructed them to accelerate the investigation into the case.

The Home Minister has demanded serious investigation into the matter to bring the culprits to justice. He said that  regardless of the involvement of the leaders of any political party in the matter, they should be investigated and the legal process should be initiated.


On Friday, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police recommended the government to confiscate 163 ropanis of land out of the 184 ropanis of land occupied by the Shera Durbar, located in Bidur Municipality-2 of Nuwakot.
