KATHMANDU, March 20: Many cricketers from Nepal have left the country - and cricketing career - for higher studies in the United States, and some of them have tried to continue playing cricket.[break]

Rohit Sharma, a member of Nepal´s U-19 team that played the Youth World Cup in New Zealand in 2002, is one of the cricketers who is trying hard to continue with cricket in the US.

"I am still playing cricket around Alabama and Atlanta," he wrote in an email. "Although I am here for higher studies, I couldn´t forget cricket."

Sharma, who completed MBA in 2010, is also trying to promote cricket in the country. With support from his University of North Alabama, Sharma is planning to open a cricket academy.

"I hope this will work out and cricket could be spread here," he said.
