Shalimar Paints India (SPI) has officially started selling its products in Nepal by appointing Color Collection and Creation International as its sole authorized distributor. The company has also introduced wide range of products in decorative, architectural and industrial segments in the Nepali market. [break]
“The architectural coatings include both interior and exterior segments,” said Saroj Luitel, who looks after sales of Shalimar Paints in Nepal.
Shalimar Paints is one of the leading paints manufacturers in India and it has been serving customers for the past 109 years. It has three manufacturing units and more than 54 branches and depots in India.
According to Luitel, customers can get full range of premium products from the company such as exterior and interior emulsion, enamel and exterior and interior cement primer in the decorative category and range of epoxy, zinc phosphate primer, coatings for metal decoration and food can lacquers in the industrial category.
Customers can get exterior emulsion in range of Rs 550 to Rs 1,650 per liter, interior emulsion in range of Rs 500 to Rs 1,300 per liter, enamel at Rs 650 per liter and primers in the range of Rs 350 to Rs 475 per liter, according to the company.
“However, prices may vary according to the stores as dealers get up to 35 percent quantity discount,” said Luitel.
Shalimar Paints is also launching a very innovative category of paint for the first time in the Nepali. It is launching exterior emulsion named ´Self Clean´ this week under its ´Super Specialty Paints´ category. It also plans to Super Specialty paints for kitchen and bathrooms in the near future.
“Self Clean is a luxury acrylic exterior emulsion that actually cleans the walls when water falls on it. Its unique composition rolls water into tiny balls and slides them off across the surface of the wall,” Luitel said, adding, “It creates a unique cleaning effect as it carries off dust, dirt and stationary particles and hence leaves the wall surface cleaner.”
Customers buying Shalimar Paints will have more than 9,000 shades across all product lines to choose from as it has tinting systems under the brand name ´Color Space´.
The company has also appointed dealers in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal and Dang and is soon planning to appoint dealers in Narayanghat, Hetauda, Itahari and Biratnagar.
