Seven injured in separate road mishaps

BHAKTAPUR, June 28: Two students sustained injuries in a road mishap at Madhyapur Thimi along the Araniko Highway on Sunday.



The accident occurred when the a bus (Ba 1 Kha 6342) heading to Melamchi from Kathmandu hit a motorcycle (Ba 23 Pa 5076) in front of SS College, and two students of the same college -- Rukesh Pau and Sanjaya Kushma-- sustained injuries.



The injured students have been taken to B&B Hospital for treatment after Bhaktapur Hospital referred them for another hospital seeing the nature of their critical health condition, police informed.



Irate students and local people torched the bus after the accident. The Metropolitan Police Unit has taken the driver Badri Khadka under its control. The accident spot has turned tense taking the issue.



Similarly, five passengers sustained injuries when an overspeeding bus (Na 2 Kha 3378) met with an accident.



The injured are Sujata Bhandari, 29, of Thokarpa-2, Temba Sherpa, 32, of Listi-3, Sanjeev Tamang of Ramche-2, Phurba Sherpa of Tatopani-2 and Rameswor Tharu. They are undergoing treatment at Primary Health Center, Bahrabise.



However, Sujata Bhandari, who has critical health condition, has been referred to B&B Hospital for further treatment.
