SARLAHI, June 25: Self-proclaimed ascetic Ram Bahadur Bamjan has been found guilty in a child abuse case by the Sarlahi District Court.
The bench of Judge Jeevan Kumar Bhandari delivered the guilty verdict on Monday and has scheduled the sentencing for July 1.

Bamjan faced accusations of causing the disappearance of his followers and committing child sexual abuse. The Sarlahi District Court issued an arrest warrant against him on February 6, 2020. Bamjan's permanent residence is Ratanpuri, Nijgadh Municipality-12, Bara.
Despite the arrest warrant issued in early 2020, Bamjan remained absconding for a considerable period. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) team apprehended him on January 9, 2024, in Kathmandu. Following the court's order, Bamjan was sent to prison on January 11, 2024.
