Seismological center to be set up in Shankhuwasabha

SHANKHUWASABHA, Nov 22: Preparations are underway to install a seismological center at Baneshwar of Chainpur Municipality-8 in the district.

 The Department of Mines and Geology has initiated the work with the financial assistance from China government, according to Bharat Khadka, ward chairman of Chainpur Municipality-8.  

Mines and Geological expert Nabin Ghising said China government is helping establish seismological centers at 10 different places across the country.

With this installation, the total number of seismological centers has reached four in the Province 1 alone. The seismological centers have already been established in Taplejung and Udayapur.

The installation work, which costs around Rs 10 million, will complete within two weeks.

There are already 21 Seismological centers established in different places in Nepal while 10 other centers are under-construction.
