KATHMANDU, July 28: Saying that more than 9,000 students got GPA 4 when evaluated by their schools while only 42 got GPA 4 when evaluated by the National Examinations Board (NEB) in the SEE exams, National Assembly member Prakash Pant has demanded an investigation into the results published by the NEB.

Speaking in the zero hour of the National Assembly meeting on Thursday, Pant questioned what opportunities the government will give to those who get poor grades in the examination, apart from studying.

He said, "More than 9,000 students received GPA 4 when they were evaluated by their schools. But only 42 examinees got GPA 4 when the exams were conducted by the NEB. How did this happen? Where, why and how did it differ? There should be an investigation into whether the 42 students scoring GPA 4 is right or more than 9,000 scoring GPA 4 is right, whether the school is right or the board is right. Those who have got good grades have a certificate in their hands and an opportunity for higher education. But what does the government have in hand for those who get poor grades? Will unemployment increase? Or will passports be distributed? What is the skill, training, and technology? I want to draw the serious attention of the Ministry of Education.”
