Minister Pokharel has said that the government is conducting the SEE by adopting adequate precautionary measures to avoid a possible spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. “Request has already been made to all 753 local units to set up health desks at all examination center during the examination period in order to provide health assistance to the students,” Pokharel said in the appeal.
The Ministry of Education has also asked students to wash their hands using soap, use masks and avoid handshakes, gatherings and crowded places. Among other things, the ministry has appealed to all members of the public not to form crowds outside the examination centers to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Earlier, the ministry had asked all schools to conclude the annual examinations of grade I to IX by March 18. As most schools are concluding their annual examinations of up to grade IX on Wednesday, nearly 7 million children will stay home until the situation returns to normal.
The ministry asks schools not to enroll new students, organize cultural programs, annual day functions, result publication and other functions that will have participation of large number of people in view of the adverse situation that the country faces at the moment.
