Security plan for festivals

KATHMANDU, Oct 1: The Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu has launched a special security plan in Kathmandu Valley in view of the upcoming Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals.

KATHMANDU, Oct 1: The Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu has launched a special security plan in Kathmandu Valley in view of the upcoming Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals. 


"Under the plan, more than 3,000 police personnel will be mobilised to prevent any criminal activities," said Senior Superintendent of Police Basanta Kumar Lama at a press conference here on Sunday.

The different police teams will patrol on foot, bicycles and motorcycles, he said. 


Likewise, the teams have been mobilised especially in the areas where money transaction takes place and there is large number of people’s resence like banks, bus stops, business hubs and restaurants in Kalanki, Balkhu, Sundhara, Old Bus Park, New Bus Park, Gongabu, Gaushala, Koteshwor and Halchowk.
