ISLAMABAD, Dec. 31: Pakistani security forces killed five terrorists during an operation in the country's northwest tribal district of North Waziristan, said the military on Saturday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, said in a statement that the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, a district in the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The military added that the operation triggered an intense exchange of fire, which killed the terrorists, including a terrorist commander Rahzeb alias Khoray.
According to the ISPR, the terrorists were involved in attacks on civilians and security forces, as well as money extortion from civilians. Arms and ammunition were also recovered during the operation, added the ISPR.
