Second win for Nepal U-19

KATHMANDU, July 5: Nepali U-19 cricket team which is in Greater Noida, India for the preparation of the upcoming ICC U-19 World Cup Division 1 Asia Qualifiers registered its second straight practice match win on Wednesday.  

In the match played at Gautam Buddha University Ground, Nepali youth team saw off Gurugram Sports Club by 249 runs. 

Earlier in the first practice match on Tuesday, Nepal had defeated Friends Sports Academy by 121 runs. 

Nepal which won the toss and opted to bat first scored 338-9 runs in the allotted 50 overs. In reply, Gurugram was bowled out for 89 runs in 30 overs.

Top-order batsmen Aadil Khan (75) and Sandeep Sunar (58) laid solid foundation to the innings while Dipendra Singh Airee stroked 48 runs to help Nepal make the huge total.

Similarly, Pawan Sarraf and Pranit Thapa Magar made 47 and 28 runs respectively. Himanshu Hari took one wicket for Gurugram. 

Meanwhile, Nepali bowlers displayed impressive bowling skills to limit Gurugram to a low score with Pawan Sarraf pocketing four wickets and he was supported by Bikram Bhusal and Rohit Poudel who bagged two wickets each. Likewise, Shahab Alam took one wicket for the winning side.

Only four batsmen including Pratap singh (28), Akash Sisodhiya (18), Vivek Rai (15), Akash Sisodhiya (18) touched double digit for the Indian side.
