Search operation underway to locate Nayab Subba’s elder son

The bodies of the father and son have been taken to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for post-mortem and the incident is being investigated, he added.

BHAKTAPUR, Dec 23: Police said that they are carrying out a search operation to locate the elder son of Kul Prasad Acharya who was found dead along with his younger son in Bhaktapur on Monday morning.


Nayab Subba Acharya, 56, who was also the acting head of the District Post Office,  Diktel Khotang, had been staying at the rented room of his sons in Balkot. He had come to Kathmandu on December 17.


While his younger son, Prabin Acharya, 22, was found dead along with his father Kulprasad, the elder son, Milan Acharya, has been out of contact. The two brothers, Milan and Prabin, were living together in the same house.

Others, who lived in the same house, reported that on Sunday the lock to the room where the brothers stayed was not open. The police said that the murder might have been perpetrated on Saturday.


Dhundi Raj Neupane, spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Range Bhaktapur, said that an investigation has been initiated as the father and the younger son were found dead in separate rooms. The corpses were found in locked rooms with injuries on them. DSP Neupane said that further information about the incident will be received after the elder son Milan comes in contact.

Kul Prasad is survived by his two sons and two daughters. The elder daughter is Nayav Subba while the younger one lives in Australia.
