Issuing a press release, the bank has said that people aged 58 years and older can enjoy a 7 percent interest rate by becoming a part of the new scheme named Senior Citizens Saving Scheme.
The account can be opened with an initial deposit of Rs 1,000. The bank has promised ATM/debit card facilities, SMS mobile banking and any-branch banking for as free facilities that come with the opening of the account.
"The customers of the scheme will also enjoy the accident insurance facility of up to Rs 100,000," says the press release, which adds that the customers can avail of the scheme at all the SDB branches.
Nepal SBI opens 32nd branch
KATHMANDU, May 21: Nepal SBI Bank has opened its 32nd branch, in Ilam Bazar. The chairman of the bank, Bal Krishna Shrestha, inaugurated the branch amid a function on Thursday.
The branch will cater to the savings, credit, remittance and all other banking needs of the people of the district, says a press release.
With the commencement of the branch´s service, the number of commercial outlets of the bank has reached 38 across the country. As all the branches of the bank are linked with the core banking platform of the State Bank of India (SBI), its customers can easily send and receive money from any country across the globe.
On the occasion, the bank also unveiled a new savings scheme for its customers. Under the scheme, the bank has said, the customers can open an account with an initial deposits of Rs 501 and enjoy ATM/debit card, internet banking, any-branch banking services and also get a free check book, concludes the release.
