CHITWAN, June 22: Community schools in Bharatpur announced closure of schools in view of the severe heat condition in Chitwan.

A meeting of principals held at Bharatpur Resources Center took decision to this effect.

Temperature is on the rise in Chitwan with the mercury hovering upwards of 40 degrees Celsius due to scanty rainfall.

“Due to scorching heat, many students fell ill and schools saw thin attendance, prompting their closure,” said Mahendra Poudel, principal of Sharadpur Higher Secondary School.

The arrangement has been made in such a way that the sudden announcement of vacation owing to rising heat will be adjusted in the monsoon vacation.
