BHAKTAPUR, Dec 16: A scooty driver died after a tipper hit a scooty in front of the Janak Education Material Center at Sanothimi in Bhaktapur on Friday night.
The fatal accident occurred when a tipper with registration number Ba 4 Kha 2347, coming from Bahakha Bazaar towards Sano Thimi, collided head-on with scooter number Ba 92 Pa 5531 coming from the opposite direction. The scooter driver, identified as Bishal Mainali, 23, residing in Gatthaghar, Bhaktapur, originally from Roshi Rural Municipality, Ward-10 Kavrepalanchowk, succumbed to his injuries.

Seriously injured in the accident, Mainali was immediately rushed to Nagarik Community Teaching Hospital in Gatthaghar, Bhaktapur for treatment. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the hospital, according to police.
It is said that a police team including an investigation officer was dispatched from Police Circle, Thimi Bhaktapur to the incident site and a preliminary investigation was carried out.
The tipper involved in the accident has been kept at the District Police office premises. The tipper driver, Suresh Tamang, 42, who resides in Ward-7 of Thakre Village, Dhading, and currently lives in Sipadol, Ward-8 of Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur, has been kept in police custody. Police said further investigation is currently underway.
