Science lab set up at Kirtipur school

KATHMANDU, Dec 5: A non-governmental organization dedicated to contributing for change in Nepal´s schools has helped set up a science laboratory in a school in Kirtipur.



Committed-Nepal, in coordination with Save the Children and financial support from Ncell, has set up a science lab at Mangal Higher Secondary School in Kirtipur which was in a serious need for a lab to provide quality practical classes to its students.[break]



The lab was inaugurated on Tuesday amidst a function as part of the NGO´s school improvement projects under the Adopt-A-School program, according to a press statement issued by Committed-Nepal.



Expressing gratitude for the support, the students and teachers informed that about 285 underprivileged children from grade nine to 12 will benefit from the project that includes a physics lab and a chemistry/biology lab, it is stated in the press release.



Committed-Nepal has already helped set up two libraries in Syangja and Chitwan and has provided new furniture for a school in Kaski.



The organization has been carrying out these projects with the financial assistance provided by Ncell under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), according to the statement.
