A total of 12 colleges participated in the event. They demonstrated different innovations in the field of renewable energy, information technology, environment and community health. There were a total of 30 stalls. [break]
"The event aims to encourage students toward scientific innovation and technology so that the new generation could lead technological transformation of the country," said Krishna Chandra Poudel, administration director of the college.
Inaugurating the event, Minister for Science and Technology Kalpana Dhamala complained that though science and technology is crucial for economic advancement of the country, Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) is hardly getting 0.38 percent of the total annual budget. She said the government was soon restructuring the MoST in order to make it more effective and efficient. She also stressed the need to increase investment in science and technology to encourage new innovations.
The event saw footfall of more than 10,000, according to the college.
