SC seeks govt’s reply over NTA Chair appointment row
Demanding written replies personally or through representatives, the apex court asked the defendants whether the government has been working to implement various seven types of orders; whether the government issued orders to violate the judgment or not in the replies and asked the Prime Minister to do so by himself or through a legal representative.
The apex court sought the written replies from the defendants in response to a contempt of court charge lodged by senior advocate Prakash Mani Sharma who accused the PM and the other authorities of violating the apex court order and also asked the apex court to punish the defendants for violating the order.
The apex court also gave 15 days time to the defendants to do so by attending the court personally or sending their replies through their representative.
