KATHMANDU, April 26: The Supreme Court has declined to register a writ petition seeking the removal of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane from his position and calling for an investigation into allegations of cooperative fraud.

Supreme Court Registrar Bimal Paudel rejected the petition citing its ineligibility for registration.

The SC refused to use the extraordinary jurisdiction (writ petition) saying that the writ petitioner did not use legal remedies available through state agencies before resorting to a writ petition.

The court stated that the grounds for the alleged violations of the accused were unclear.

Yubraj Safal lodged the writ petition in the Supreme Court, seeking the dismissal of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane amidst accusations of cooperative fraud.
