The apex court´s administration turned down the petition saying the petitioners had not raised any constitutional or legal question. [break]
The writ petitioners, however, said that they would file an application against the SC administration´s decision on Monday. Karki on Saturday had asked a junior police personnel to wash his feet after offering prayers at a temple in Gorkha district.
Journalists Baburam Acharya and Parbat Raj Ghimire moved the SC arguing that the chief commissioner of the anti-graft body violated the Police Act, 2012 by making a police personnel wash his feet.
They have also termed Karki´s act “inhuman” and a “breach of fundamental rights guaranteed by the interim constitution”.
Acharya and Ghimire have urged the apex court to issue an interim order against deployment of police personnel by the home ministry and the police headquarters for the personal service of high officials.
The office of the Prime Minister, Karki, CIAA, home ministry and the police headquarters have been made defendants in the writ petition.
