KATHMANDU, Dec 21: The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order in the case filed against Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party.
The Constitutional Court refused to issue an interim order while hearing the petition on Wednesday that has questioned Lamichhane’s citizenship.
With the Supreme Court refusing to issue an interim order, the way has been opened for Lamichhane to take the oath of office as a member of the House of Representatives.
Advocate Yuvraj Basaula and advocate Yuvraj Bhattarai had filed separate writ petitions demanding the dismissal of Lamichhane's position as a member of parliament, raising the question of legality of his citizenship certificate.
