The apex court ordered Ncell officials to appear before the court in response to a writ petition filed by lawmaker Amaresh Kumar Singh.
Singh had filed a writ in the court seeking to stop the controversial sale and transfer of Ncell shares. The deal has drawn serious controversy as there are suspicions of tax evasion. Also, a section of people have said that the deal is aimed to stop Ncell coming to the government ownership after five years– a mandatory provision as per the existing rules.
