KATHMANDU, Sept 5: The Supreme Court has ordered UCPN (Maoist) Chairman to appear before the court within next three days.

Hearing to a case of contempt of court against Dahal filed by advocate Dinesh Tripathi, the SC on Thursday ordered him to appear before the court. Tripathi moved the apex court with an application accusing Dahal of involvement in contempt of court by making a public statement against the dignity of the judiciary. [break]

Addressing a function in the capital on Wednesday, Dahal had questioned, "Which caste and ethnicity does the court [SC] belong to?" He had also warned that his party would revolt if insurgency-era cases against Maoist leaders and cadres were revived by going against the Comprehensive Peace Accord, 2006.
