A joint meeting of the Tipper Victims Civil Society, Lalitpur district administration, police, tipper entrepreneurs, Department of Roads, Department of Transport Management and crusher entrepreneurs at the District Administration Office on Sunday took a decision to this effect.
The road will only be used by loaded tippers to go to Satdobato for the next 30 days starting from Tuesday and tippers will be totally banned in the road thereafter. Even during these 30 days, the tippers would not operate during rush hours -- 8:30-10:30 in the morning and 3:30-5:30 in the afternoon, according to a press release issued by the society that has been waging a campaign against the environmental and health hazards caused by use of tippers.
Civil Homes Residential Society (CHORES) had also expressed solidarity with the campaign.
