Meanwhile, Eastern Region was unlucky when Paras Limbu´s header in Sudan Bardewa´s pass rebounded off the crossbar. Sunil Sardar of Eastern was declared the man-of-the-match and bagged a purse of Rs 5,000.

Eastern Region´s coach Paras Chaudhary said poor finishing was the main reason for his side´s defeat. Chaudhary´s counterpart Pradip Nepal of Saraswati commented that his side failed to score in the regulation time due to lack of understanding. "We failed to score due to absence of set players in the team," Nepal said.

Armed Police Force (APF) will lock horns with CFC, Bhutan in the first quarterfinal on Tuesday.
