KATHMANDU, Nov 17: CMG Club Sankata advanced to the semifinals by registering a 2-0 victory against departmental team Nepal Police Club (NPC) in the ongoing Chandragiri Gold Cup football tournament on Thursday.
Sankata’s Ivory Coast players Florence Kowava and Martins Ajayi scored two goals in the first seven minutes of the match.
A division league: Sankata beats Chyasal
Florence gave a lead to Sankata by scoring a header in the 5th minute of the match. Martins doubled the lead after two minutes. Florence was declared the man of the match and was awarded with Rs 3,000.
Sankata will face Friends Club on Saturday in the semifinal.
In the other match, host Friends entered into the semifinals beating Bright Youth Club 4-3.
Himalayan Sherpa Club will take on Nepal APF Club on Saturday.
