SURKHET, Sept 15: Filthy materials including sanitary pads, socks and slippers were found in the hooch seized from various places of the district by police on Saturday.
In a week-long raid carried out on liquor outlets, police found unhealthy materials incuding socks and condoms in the locally prepared liquor.
“We seized raw materials for making around 2,000 liters of liquor in a week-long crackdown,” said SP Basanta Rajaure, chief of District Police Office, Surkhet.

“We found sanitary pads, socks, slippers, decomposing mice in the seized hooch,” said SP Rajaure, adding, “We also found condoms and mice.”
A total of 330 liters of readymade liquor and eight sets of liquor making utensils were seized in the period of a week, said DSP Shyam Singh Chaudhary.
Police have launched a district-wide campaign to control the illegal production of such hooch.
