Binil Bajaracharya, general manager of Nepa Hima Trade Link, sole authorized distributor of Sony electronic products for Nepal, thanks to new product line-up with added features, sales of Sony´s electronic products have gone up.
“Sony´s LCD monitor, LED television and camera are very popular. As people are switching over to LCD monitor from the CRT version, there is an excitement in this segment," said Bajaracharya. Last year, Sony products grossed Rs 400 million in the Nepali market and this year´s target is Rs 700 million, he told Republica.
CG Electronics - sole authorized distributor of LG, Onida, Kelvinator and manufacturer of CG brand of appliances - maintained LG´s sales improved over the last year. In the festive season, all LG products saw a spurt in sales but now home appliances are doing particularly good,” said Purushottam Bhandari, general manager of CG Electronics.
“LG home appliances such as washing machine, microwave oven, vacuum cleaner and LED television are highly popular in the market,” Said Bhandari. He further added that the sale of LG products increased due to better after sales services. Also, it is the oldest brand in the Nepali market in the home appliances category.
Him Electronics that distributes Samsung electronics in Nepal claimed sales have improved compared to last year mainly because these products improve living standards and enhance lifestyle.
“Samsung has introduced over 100 electronics products but among them Samsung mobile handset, 3D LED and SMART TV are specially in demand,” said Dinesh Shrestha, sales manager of Him Electronics.
“Samsung always has new models in the market because customers are very choosy and they are always looking for novelty in products,” added Shrestha.
