Samsung smart cameras set to hit shelves

KATHMANDU, April 18: Him Electronics is soon introducing Wi-Fi enabled Samsung smart cameras in the Nepali market, targeting the young generation, particularly those who want to share their best moments instantly.



The company, which is the authorized distributor of Samsung electrical and home appliances, is introducing Samsung ST200F, DV300F and WB150F Nepal. [break]



“We are launching Samsung ST200F, DV300F and WB150F in Nepal within 10 days,” said Binay Tripathi, deputy general manager of Him Electronics, disclosing that the cameras will be priced between Rs 19,990 and Rs 29,990.



Samsung ST200F and DV300F are priced Rs 19,990 each, while WB150F will cost Rs 29,990.



The new cameras will feature social sharing, remote viewfinder and Samsung mobile links. With the help of social sharing, users can share their special and exciting moment instantly from the spot by uploading to Facebook, Picasa and Photobucket or sending emails directly from camera.



“These features will also enable the users do away with the problem of running out of the memory," said Tripathi.



Moreover, there will be no need for cable to transfer the pictures from the smart cameras as Samsung mobiles links will allow the users to directly send images to smart phones and tablets. Along with this, users can save images to their PCs directly.



"Remote viewfinder can control smart cameras by using any Samsung smart phone. With the help of this application, users can preview images, adjust the camera settings, zoom in and out, frame the scene, and mark the shot with the location with the help of smart phone, wirelessly," Tripathi told Republica.



Samsung ST200F is a 14 MP camera with 10x optical zoom, 77mm wide-angle lens and 3-inch 1,610 high resolution HVGA LCD screen. It has 720p HD video recording capability. The ST200F also have login browsers to connect to wireless networks.



Similarly, Samsung DV300F is a 16 MP camera with 5x optical zoom, 25mm wide-angle lens and 3-inch touch screen LCD display. In addition, it comes with Children Mode animation to capture child attention.



"While taking group pictures, everyone knows when to smile by the help of self timer visual countdown," said Tripathi.



Samsung WB150F is a 14 MP camera with 18x optical zoom and 24mm wide-angle lens that helps the users to get the best shots from distance. It also has photo editing applications.
