According to the organizers, the event will showcase latest technologies and innovations in the mobile phone industry. New models of mobile phones, tablets and phablets from different brands will also be launched during the expo.[break]
Popular cine artiste Karishma Manandhar inaugurated the weeklong event amid a ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Manadhar said the expo will be the best platform for those who want to buy mobile phones. “As all leading brands are available under one roof, customers do not have to move from one shop to another to get the phone of their choice,” she added.
The expo has 62 stalls where companies dealing on mobile sets and accessories, distributors of mobile phones, laptops, tablets and phablets, repair centers, and telephone service providers are showcasing their products and services.
“Everyday a new product will be launched by different celebrities,” said Purushottam Basnet, president of Mobile Traders Association of Nepal (MTAN) - the organizer of the event.

The expo showcases mobile phones priced between Rs 1,000 and Rs 100,000. Similarly, tablets and phablets are available in price range of Rs 5,500 to Rs 80,000. The exhibitors are offering discounts of up to 60 percent.
Many companies are using the expo to launch their new products. International Marketing Services (IMS) - the authorized distributor of Samsung Mobile for Nepal - for example is launching Samsung Galaxy Music Duos. “Besides, we have smart tables where customers can touch and feel the mobile phone before buying it,” said Dikesh Malhotra, president of IMS.
Similarly, Nokia is launching Windows 8 phone. InTech Mobile Industries is launching phablets running on Android Jelly Bean operating system and Windows 8 tablets. Indian brands like G´Five, Colors, Karbonn and Lava are launching new range of smartphones.
Mobile phone exchange offer introduced by CTV Mobile is the other attraction of the expo. “We will be providing the best price for old hand sets,” said Alive Glider, managing director of CTV Mobile.
Customers visiting the expo can get laptops of various brands like Acer, Dell and Toshiba, among others.
Entry fee for the event has been fixed at Rs 50 for general visitors and Rs 25 for students and mobile traders. The organizer is providing a Samsung Galaxy S Duos phones as door prize every day. On the last day, the organizer will provide a Samsung Galaxy Note II as door prize.
