Galaxy Tab 2 is tablet offering from the Korean giant to sport Android 4.0 OS right out of the box, IMS that represents Samsung mobiles in Nepal said. [break]The 7-inch tablet, which sports TFT LCD screen of 1024 x 600 pixels, weighs just 344 grams and measures 93.7x122.4x10.5mm, making the users feel lightweight in the hand. The smaller size makes it easy to read one handed, which is perfect for the commuters, IMS said in a statement.
Also know as Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, the tablet PC sports 1 Ghz dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. Besides, it has a microSD card slot for more storage. The tablet supports both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity so that users can easily get connected to the Internet.

“It can shoot 720 pixels video at 30 frames per second (fps) which means users can take a quick video on holiday or while going out with friends and family and it can be edited easily with the help of the application pre-installed in the tab,” said the statement.
The Galaxy Tab 2 comes pre-loaded with readers, games and movie hubs. The Games Hub provides access to all the latest games to be played on the tablet, the movies hub will make available more than 500 movies or 2,500 music videos and the reader´s hub opens up more than two million e-books, 3,500 magazines in 25 languages, and more than 2,000 newspapers in 51 languages, said the statement.
The tablet sports two cameras - the 3 mega pixels rear camera for photography and VGA front camera for video chatting. The low photo quality is one of the drawbacks of this device.
Deepak Malhotra, executive chairman of IMS, is upbeat about the performance of Galaxy Tab 2 in the Nepali market. “As the demand for tablets is increasing in the local market, we are hopeful that Tab 2 will create a buzz as it is cheaper,” he said.
The company has fixed the price of Galaxy Tab at Rs 40,000.
Malhotra said the company is targeting to sell around 200 units in a month. Currently, the tab will be available in silver color. Galaxy Tab 2 in white color will hit the shelves soon, according to the company.
