The judgment in the high-profile case was pronounced on Wednesday, which turned out to be crucial for the family.

Salman’s family members, including his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail and sisters Alvira and Arpita, were present at the sessions court when the verdict was pronounced.

They were all emotional after Additional Sessions Judge D.W. Deshpande convicted Salman for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, driving without license and other offences.
He was also held guilty of rash and negligent driving when he was behind the wheel of the Land Cruiser that killed one man and injured four others in suburban Bandra in September 2002.
