Sahukhala to leave for trial in Indonesia

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: National football team striker Santosh Sahukhala is all set to leave for a trial to play professional football in Indonesia top flight club. Football fan Nabin Chitrakar had initiated trail for Sahukhala who plays professional football from the Laxmi Hyudnai Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC).



Sahukhala will leave for Indonesia on Wednesday through Indonesian FIFA players’ agent Mustika Ratna. If he passes the trial he will be receive a salary of $ 3000, accommodation and feeding facility by the club, Sahukhala informed the Republica. [break]



Indonesian agent Ratna had corresponded MMC requesting it to release Sahukhala. In his letter to the MMC, Ratna has stated that he took the initiative after he heard Sahukhala of being a talented player through his friends.



“Through various channels we came to know that there were lots of talented players in Nepal. We have already made arrangements for Sahukhala’s visa and are optimistic he will be enrolled in some big club in Indonesia,” Ratna had stated in his letter, adding, “Sahukhala will be given the opportunity to give trial in various Super League clubs of Indonesia.”



Sahukhala who is excited for trial in Indonesia is equally cautious regarding his presence in the national team. “I will always be available for the national team wherever I go. Therefore if I pass the trial my first condition would be to be released for the national team.”



The 23-year who holds the experience of playing professional football from Maldives and Bangladesh has said that he would put his cent percent effort in Indonesia. “If I pass the trial there, it will give an opportunity for other players as well and will be able to give positive message about Nepali football.”



In the Nepali top flight football, Sahukhala have featured from APF Club and Three Star Club. He got enrolled to MMC as the highest paid player last year. His salary was Rs 50,000 per month in MMC.



In the 2010 top flight league of Nepal, Sahukhala had scored 17 goals for Three Star Club becoming the highest scorer from 22 matches. Similarly, in 2011 A division league, he had scored 16 goals for MMC from 17 matches.



Chitrakar who initiated trial for Sahukhala is optimistic that Sahukhala will be enrolled in one of the big clubs of Indonesia. “I think Sahukhala has got 85 percent chances passing trial in Indonesia, but it is necessary that he should play upto his potential.”



Chitrakar had facilitated trial for Sahukhala through Ratna who was his friend. “Ratna had time and again contacted me for bringing some talented players from Nepal.



He recently talked to me for bringing some talented strikers from Nepal and I proposed Sahukhala,” Chitrakar said adding, “He was impressed with Sahukhala after learning about his performance. The ones who go through agent have high chance of being enrolled in one of the clubs.”
