Overnight leader Sabin registered two over par 72 on the final round for a total of four-over 214, while Shiva Ram came in with the card of par 70. Sanjay Lama finished third after a round of 74 for a total of 220.
Another local pro Deo Raj Pakhrin came fourth at 221 after the final round score of 73, while Rabi Khadka finished fifth at 222. Defending champion Deepak Thapa Magar and Ramesh Nagarkoti were in sixth position with a total of 227. Tham Bahadur Rai was eighth and Surya Prasad Sharma tied with Rajan Thapa at 230 for the ninth position.
Out of the total cash prize of Rs 350,000, Sabin earned Rs 72,000, while Shiva Ram received Rs 46,000 and Sanjay Lama pocketed Rs 36,000. Fourth-placed Deo Raj Pakhrin got Rs 30,000 and fifth-placed Rabi Khadka won Rs 23,500. The top 20 golfers who made the cut after the 36 holes received their share of cash prize while other four golfers got Rs 2,500 each.
Ramesh Adhikari of RNGC finished first among amateurs with the score of 231, ahead of local amateur and defending champion Suman Rai (244) and Bhuwan Pudasaini (251).
“I was confident and played with cool mind. I was thinking of not repeating the mistakes I made in the first two rounds,” said Sabin. “But I was worried when I could not finish the front nine with under-par score despite hitting four birdies,” he added.
Nepal Professional Golfers´ Association President Rabindra Man Shrestha, Chairman of Yeti Travels Singha Bahadur Basnet, Executive Director of Yeti Travels Jyotsna Basnet, CEO of Nirvana Country Club Health and Golf Resort Shashi Ram Bhandari, Member of Sunsari District Golf Association Indra Lamichhane among others gave away prizes to the winners.
