Russian envoy calls on Minister Jwala

KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala and Russian Ambassador to Nepal Aleksei Novikov have held discussions on Monday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala and Russian Ambassador to Nepal Aleksei Novikov have held discussions on Monday.


On the occasion, discussions were held on various issues including the construction of metro train and tunnel route, said Joint-Secretary at the Ministry Arjun Thapa.


Many countries in the world have run the metro train service with the support from Russia.

During the meeting, Minister Jwala and the Russian envoy talked about the metro train service in the Kathmandu Valley and the east-west rail route.


According to the Minister Jwala's Secretariat, the Russian Ambassador visited the Ministry to to discuss the issues of metro train service, east-west train route and physical infrastructures.


Chairperson of the State of Duma of the Federation Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, is visiting Nepal in the near future.


On the occasion, Minister Jwala proposed the Russian Ambassador to help build the metro train service in the Katmandu Valley, said Secretary at the Ministry, Keshav Kumar Sharma.


In response, the Russian Ambassador said that the Russian Railway Company was ready to construct metro train and expected a concrete proposal from Nepal to advance the project.
