KATHMANDU, March 19: Various 10 ruling coalition partners have decided to discuss the power sharing issue only after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal takes the vote of confidence.
In a meeting held at the prime minister's official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday evening, Prime Minister Dahal said that he would enter into discussions about power sharing only after a vote of confidence.
PM Dahal to take vote of confidence on March 22
The meeting on Saturday was expected to discuss power sharing along with the prime minister's vote of confidence. With the agreement that there will be a vote of confidence among the parties, some parties said that the issue of power sharing should also be finalized on Saturday itself.
However, the prime minister himself said that it would not be appropriate to discuss these issues before the vote of confidence. Prime Minister Dahal is scheduled to seek vote of confidence on Monday.
Nepal Samajwadi Party leader Mahindra Raya Yadav, who participated in the meeting, said that only the issue of vote of confidence was discussed during the meeting on Saturday.
"All the parties have agreed on the vote of confidence. Some parties raised the point that they should settle the power-sharing issue on Saturday itself. But the prime minister said that he will discuss this after the vote of confidence. After that, the parties presented their opinions. And the meeting is over," said Yadav.
