KATHMANDU, Sept 23: The five ruling political parties are close to agreeing on seat distribution for the upcoming elections slated for November 20. In a meeting held on Thursday at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, the top leaders gathered to forge consensus on the constituencies of some districts of Madhesh Province.
In some constituencies including Dhanusha-1, Siraha-3, the parties in the alliance including the Maoists have claimed. The top leaders of the CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (United Socialist) and Janata Samajwadi Party, which are in the ruling coalition, will meet today for the first discussion on the matter of constituencies that are yet to be agreed upon.
Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said that after the agreement between them, the top leaders of the five parties in the coalition will hold a discussion again at 1 PM on Friday and try to reach an agreement.
