KATHMANDU, Oct 25: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced that it will launch Kathmandu-centered protests from Friday.
The announcement follows the Kaski District Court's decision on Thursday to grant the police permission to extend RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane’s judicial custody by seven days and three new counts of charges being pressed by the Rupandehi District Court against him.

The RSP has called for a gathering at Maitighar Mandala at 1 PM today, calling it a ‘solidarity against political revenge’ by the KP Sharma Oli-led government. The RSP has urged everyone to participate in the protest.
Stating that the movement has now progressed into a full-fledged campaign, RSP leaders have said that they plan to launch a nationwide ‘exposure campaign’ against the Oli-led government.
In preparation for the movement, the RSP’s district, provincial, and central leaders available in Kathmandu held a meeting. The meeting discussed making the movement peaceful and organized. RSP cadres have also been protesting in Pokhara since last Saturday, opposing the arrest of their chairman Lamichhane.
