KATHMANDU, March 19: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
A Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting of the RSP held on Sunday decided to give a vote of confidence to Dahal. Even before this, the RSP had given a vote of confidence to Dahal.
According to one of the leaders, Chairman Lamichhane analyzed the latest political situation and said in the meeting that it would be appropriate to give a vote of confidence to Dahal.
This decision of RSP follows the government’s decision not to proceed with the passport misuse case against the party’s chairman Rabi Lamichhane.
Chairman Lamichhane, who previously lost the position of MP and minister, is ready to contest from Chitwan constituency number 2 in the by-elections to be held on April 23.
After Lamichhane lost the post of MP, minister, and party chairman following the Supreme Court Verdict on the case against his citizenship, the RSP decided to leave the government on February 5. After leaving the government within a month and 10 days, the RSP is preparing to take at least two ministries in the new government.
