CHITWAN, Nov 23: Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has more than doubled the margin of victory in region number 2 of Chitwan.

In the counting of votes in the hall of Chitwan Udhyog Sangh, UML's Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel and Lamichhane have a lead of 7,392 votes. When 27,494 votes were counted, Lamichhane got 13,641 votes.
Following him is UML's Pokhrel, who secured 6,249 votes. Pokhrel was previously elected twice from this constituency. Similarly, Umesh Shrestha of Nepali Congress (NC), who is also the state minister, has received 5,935 votes.
