The organization shortlisted Gautam as the youngest politician elected through the First-Past-the-Post system as member of Parliament in the history of Nepal and a founding member of the RSP. Sobita, who was born in a rural village with no access to electricity and studied in a government school with scarce resources, has been identified as a character who has emerged in politics with her speech being highly liked on social media.
The organizers announced last night that it was decided to award this title to five of the world's top politicians who are playing a role in positively influencing young people in their communities and countries.
The organization presents ‘The One Young World Politician of the Year Award’ every year to influential politicians in the 18-35 age group.
