KATHMANDU, Aug 26: The parliamentary party of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) convened to discuss the upcoming nominations for the chairmanship of all thematic parliamentary committees.

A decision was made to present candidates for parliamentary committee leadership roles in alignment with the requirement for at least three individuals to contest the committee chairmanship.

After the meeting held at Singha Durbar on Friday, Santosh Pariyar, the party's chief whip, addressed the media, stating that nominees with the necessary competencies will be put forward for chairmanship roles in parliamentary committees scheduled for August 28. For committees lacking a sufficient number of qualified candidates, internal deliberations will take place to address the situation.

Pariyar informed that during the meeting, party chairman Rabi Lamichhane decided to address pertinent matters of public concern, particularly the issue of lumpy skin, during the parliamentary session following August 17.

He also highlighted that Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has introduced a resolution proposal regarding the dengue disease, which is slated for parliamentary discussion. Furthermore, the party has collectively endorsed the Supreme Court's directive concerning the budget allocation within the Constituency Development Program Appropriation Bill, affirming their commitment to the judicial order.
